End of an Era

In what was her 50th year at the company, Julia our service administrator has retired. Having started with the company on the 18th November 1968 as an Office Junior, Julia fast became a customer favourite and is known throughout the region by our customers and their families, some she even witnessed grow from a child to an adult and then onto running their family farms.

Julia took on many roles within the company which led her to working out of the old Market Rasen depot and then returning to the Brigg depot in the early 80’s where she worked various roles until, in the early 2000’s, she moved to the aftersales admin team alongside Catherine Strina, whom she shared an office with and the pair became the faces of the Aftersales Team.

In her retirement send off Julia was thanked by Chairman Michael Peacock and Managing Director Graham Main for her years of loyal service and hard work. Group Service Manager Gerald Brown gave a speech reminding Julia of her accomplishments and some of the events she may have witnessed whilst working for Peacock and Binnington. Such as the Introduction of the first Fax machine in the warranty office rather than mailing warranty documents back and forth. The work place smoking ban and also the original hand-written account cards being transferred to a computer system.

Julia will be missed by all at Peacock and Binnington and everyone would like to wish her a happy retirement.

As Julia retires we welcome Jenny Blackburn to the role of Service Administrator, with the hope and excitement of what the new era will bring.
