Limousines, Hummers, and Rolls Royces are standard wedding transportation, but Pete Egerton and his wife, Katy, tore up the rule book and arrived in style at their wedding in Great Ayton, North Yorkshire in 2015 when they chose an all-black Fendt 939 Vario from Peacock & Binnington.
‘I wanted transport to the church that had the “wow-factor”’ Peter told us. ‘So, I asked a friend of mine, who farms near Wakefield, West Yorkshire, what he thought would be a smart tractor to use. Amongst the suggestions, he sent me a photo of a Fendt 939 ‘Black Beauty’ and at that, both Katy and I were sold.’
Peter’s best man, Howard, is one of our customers and kindly pointed him in the direction of the team at Peacock & Binnington Selby to see how they could help. Speaking about the process of acquiring the tractor for the day, Peter told us:
‘On the times when I’ve visited the Selby team, they’ve always been very welcoming and the service we received in the build up to our big day was amazing! Marcus Bourne, Area Sales Representative and now a Director, couldn’t do enough for us. The team sent out a replacement 939 tractor so that ploughing could continue and the Black Beauty was given a full valet so that it looked stunning for a starring role on our big day.’
It would be no fun at all if the groom didn’t get to drive the tractor on his big day though, so Peter made sure that he drove it before but also during the day of the wedding!
‘Being the experienced tractor driver, Howard drove it all the way from the branch in Selby to Great Ayton; a total of 63 miles. He found it incredibly easy and comfortable to drive, plenty of power, but quiet too.’ said Peter.
The tractor stood proudly outside of the wedding venue all day, firstly at the church and after, at the marquee as guests flocked around for photos.
‘Many of our guests wanted a photo with the machine and still talk about it to this day.’
