Meet the Team: Corringham Service

We spoke to a few members of the Corringham Service Team to find out what they do!

Scott Isherwood - Service Manager

I have been working for P&B since June 2014 starting as a Service Technician, then progressing to Service Supervisor and then Service Manager. My current role as Service Manager has many responsibilities, these include booking in jobs, organising the workshop, communicating with customers, and assisting the technicians when required. I have worked in this industry since leaving school and I couldn’t imagine myself doing anything else. For me, a major highlight of the role is getting to learn about and operate some of the advanced technologies used within our agricultural machinery like Vario Transmissions and GPS steering systems that you simply wouldn’t see in other industries.

Martyn Sleight - Workshop Supervisor
My role at Peacock & Binnington is varied, I work on repairing and servicing tractors, drills, and sprayers. I particularly enjoy repairing Väderstad and Challengers. I started P&B as a Service Engineer before progressing into my role as Workshop Supervisor. I am on hand to assist the Service Manager, Scott, as well as arranging some team-building trips for work. Before working at P&B, I completed an Agricultural Engineers Apprenticeship and worked on a farm for 10 years. In my free time, I enjoy restoring vintage tractors and spending time with my family on the farm.

Dom Rose - Technician
I have worked at P&B for 6 years. I joined as an Apprentice Technician after studying Agricultural Engineering at Riseholme College. As a now fully trained Technician, I diagnose faults then service and repair machinery, specialising in Fendt. The best part about my job is being able to see how modern machinery is developing and I am excited at the prospect of future developments in the way machines are being built for efficiency. At home, I have a cocker-jack named Finn and I enjoy taking him on walks around my village.

Michael Bontoft - Technician
I came to work at P&B as a Trainee Technician in March 2020 after studying Land-Based Technology at Riseholme College. I am now a fully trained Technician, and I love that every day at work is different. My day-to-day work involves servicing and repairing machines, I specialise in the Massey Ferguson Brand of Machinery. After working towards a career in this industry, I am very happy working at P&B. Outside of work, I used to play football and rugby for a Market Rasen team, but I unfortunately stopped due to lockdown. I am hoping to get back to playing at some point in the future.

Matthew Guthrie - Apprentice
I started my apprenticeship with P&B in August and so far, I am thoroughly enjoying it. I have been learning how to do service and repairs on machinery as well as how to set them up for customers’ collection. I love the variety of different jobs within my role, and I get on really well with the team. Outside of work, I enjoy gaming, Call of Duty being one of my favourites. I also spend time with my 2 dogs, Fergus and Jess, and my cat Sybil. I chose to do an apprenticeship at P&B because I have always been interested in machinery and I hope to stay on and continue my career afterwards.
