Massey Ferguson Beetroot Harvesting

William F. Moore have been beetroot farming for over 100 years and have always been a loyal Peacock & Binnington customer. Four generations of the Moore family have been dedicated to supplying the nation with the freshest and highest quality produce.

We visited the farm and spoke to Chris, George and David Moore to learn more about how the machinery supplied by P&B assists with the function of the work they do.

George Moore, Director of W. F. Moore, told us,

"We currently have 5 Massey Ferguson tractors that we use in the day-to-day operations. The most recent purchase being the MF 7726S Dyna 6 Exclusive. We were attracted to this most recent machine because of the RTK technology that it has included. This type of technology helps us massively in the drilling side of the business for many reasons. It ensures that we can create consistent and effective tramlines with high accuracy as well as minimising driver fatigue."

The farm is located at Butterwick Grange, farming 500 hectares on the Isle of Axholme and annually 10,000 tonnes of produce is supplied to all major retailers across the nation.
We were lucky enough to be shown around the farm and learned how the beetroot is produced, from the moment it is planted right through to when the lorries collect the finished product, and it gets sent to supermarkets and factories.

Chris Moore, Owner of the business said,

"We have always bought our machinery from Peacock & Binnington. In our experience, the customer care is unbeatable and the way that the staff are always on hand to help out even after the purchase makes us as a customer feel important. As well as this, we have a long standing personal relationship with Michael Peacock, Chairman of Peacock & Binnington. George’s grandmother was Mr Peacock’s tennis partner some 70 years ago!"
